The stage is set for a mouth-watering Heavy Woollen Cup Final as two of the biggest names in the Bradford Premier Cricket League go head-to-head on Monday 31st August 2026, with the famous trophy at stake. New Farnley and Woodlands are fierce rivals on the cricket field, and when these two sides meet, you can always expect competitive cricket, big performances and plenty of drama. This is exactly the kind of fixture that cup finals are made for!
Both clubs have enjoyed remarkable success over the years and have established themselves among the genuine powerhouses of Yorkshire club cricket. New Farnley have built an enviable reputation for winning trophies and performing when the pressure is at its highest, while Woodlands have consistently shown that they are more than capable of matching the very best. With quality throughout both squads, there will be international experience, outstanding local talent and players who will relish the opportunity to write their names into Heavy Woollen Cup history.
But this isn’t just another game of cricket β it’s a rivalry, it’s a final and it’s the chance to lift one of Yorkshire’s most prestigious pieces of silverware! Expect fierce competition between the wickets, explosive batting, skilful bowling and athletic fielding, with neither side willing to give an inch. With 50 overs per side, there is plenty of time for the game to ebb and flow, and one big partnership, spell of bowling or spectacular catch could ultimately decide who gets their hands on the trophy.
So make a note in your diary, bring your family and friends and come along for what should be a fantastic Bank Holiday Monday of Yorkshire cricket. Enjoy the atmosphere, a cold drink, some great food and, hopefully, a memorable final between two proud clubs and Bradford Premier Cricket League rivals. New Farnley or Woodlands β only one can lift the Heavy Woollen Cup! ππππ
Great Cricket. Great Rivalry. Great Atmosphere. Great Day Out!

My band The Cardinals had the pleasure of playing at the club this weekend. The staff were lovely. Really accommodating. It was easy and accessible to get our equipment in. The club itβs self is a modern vibrant space and the audience were equally lovely. They were up singing and dancing from the very first song. We had an absolute blast. Defo will be returning next year. RecommendedPosted on Google![]()

I hired New Farnley Cricket Club for my two boysβ joint birthday party and it was fantastic. We had all the outside alongside the cricket ground, right to the bottom where we were allowed to have a giant inflatable slide. There was a cricket match on at the same time as the party but it didnβt get in the way and we had so much space for the kids to play in. Inside we had room for the food and DJ and a little dance floor . Very nice service and staff on the bar and grounds. A lovely experience would definitely recommend for party. Thank you! We've had a number of corporate events at New Farnley CC now and each one has been brilliant. The staff do all they can to ensure everyone is comfortable and looked after. The added bonus of being able to use the outdoor greens for summer events is great - we played cricket, rounders and boules after a lovely BBQ - all of which was set up for us by the team at the cricket club. I can highly recommend the venue for anyone considering a private event in the area.Posted on Google![]()
