🏏 New Farnley Girls U11's Ready To Make History!

It is a very exciting time for New Farnley Cricket Club as our brand-new Girls U11’s team prepares to take to the field for the very first time! The girls will play their inaugural fixture on Friday 14th August 2026, when they travel to Hunslet Nelson for a 6:30pm Start. It promises to be a fantastic occasion as another exciting chapter begins in the history of our club.

The girls were out in force at training last Friday, and it was wonderful to see so many smiling faces on the field. There was plenty of hard work, enthusiasm and determination on show, but above all the girls were having great fun, enjoying their cricket and learning new skills together. The session was a fantastic illustration of the growing enthusiasm for girls’ cricket at New Farnley.

A huge amount of credit must also go to our coaches Jack, Kai and Maxwell, who have been working hard with the girls and helping them develop their cricket in a fun, positive and encouraging environment. Their enthusiasm and commitment are helping to give these young players the confidence to get out there, have a go and, most importantly, enjoy being part of a team.

The development of girls’ cricket is hugely important, not just for New Farnley but for the future of the game as a whole. With ECB-affiliated Premier League clubs required to run a girls-only programme and evidence at least one girls’ fixture on Play-Cricket by Saturday 31st October 2026, Friday night’s game represents an important milestone for our club. More importantly, though, it is about creating opportunities for young girls to discover cricket, make friends and hopefully develop a lifelong love of the game.

We would love to see plenty of New Farnley supporters, parents, family and friends making the trip to Hunslet Nelson on Friday evening to get behind our inaugural Girls U11’s side. The girls have put in the work at training, and now they get the chance to pull on their colours and experience the excitement of playing their first-ever match together. There could be no better way to celebrate the beginning of their journey.

So, Friday 14th August 2026 – 6:30pm – Hunslet Nelson. Come along, make some noise and show the girls just how proud the whole New Farnley Cricket Club family is of them. This is only the beginning, and we can’t wait to see what the future holds for our New Farnley Girls U11s! 💚💛🏏

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My band The Cardinals had the pleasure of playing at the club this weekend. The staff were lovely. Really accommodating. It was easy and accessible to get our equipment in. The club it’s self is a modern vibrant space and the audience were equally lovely. They were up singing and dancing from the very first song. We had an absolute blast. Defo will be returning next year. Recommended

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I hired New Farnley Cricket Club for my two boys’ joint birthday party and it was fantastic. We had all the outside alongside the cricket ground, right to the bottom where we were allowed to have a giant inflatable slide. There was a cricket match on at the same time as the party but it didn’t get in the way and we had so much space for the kids to play in. Inside we had room for the food and DJ and a little dance floor . Very nice service and staff on the bar and grounds. A lovely experience would definitely recommend for party.

Thank you! Xx

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We've had a number of corporate events at New Farnley CC now and each one has been brilliant. The staff do all they can to ensure everyone is comfortable and looked after. The added bonus of being able to use the outdoor greens for summer events is great - we played cricket, rounders and boules after a lovely BBQ - all of which was set up for us by the team at the cricket club. I can highly recommend the venue for anyone considering a private event in the area.

Thank you for making a difficult day more easy .
