It is with deep sadness to learn of the death of one of our longest associates of the club, Doreen Jackson. Doreen was the wife of our former Club President, Chairman and Captain, Barry Jackson who sadly left us in 1999. She was deeply connected to the club being the Mum of Jane and Mark Jackson, Mother-in-Law of David Watson and Grandma to Joe Suggitt and Tom Suggitt along with all the wider Watson family who are all frequent visitors and supporters of our great club. Our current President Stephen Dalby has personally known Doreen for forty plus years. He added ” Doreen was a bundle of fun, energy and joy to be around who always had a smile on her face, never shy of a conversation to be had and even in her eighties, she would be on the dance floor leading the Conga or kicking her legs up to the Can Can”. Back in the day we used to have the Committee Meetings at the Jackson household in their bungalow on Blue Hill Lane where you were greeted by a beautiful garden of stately home standard which was all the work of Doreen and her passion for gardening. There was always plenty of refreshments on hand and the meetings became more of a social occasion rather than that of a formal meeting. We will communicate funeral arrangements once they are known and with Doreen now being reunited with Barry, I am sure they will be serving up great fish and chips for all the angels. Rest In Peace Doreen. 🙏

I had my mums wake here and the staff were so lovely as the day before we had an issue with a memory stick showing mums pics and they did everything they could to try and help sort things out for the day. The place was also very cosy inside with a lovely log burner. There was never a queue at the bar for the guests either. My mum was given a really lovely send off xPosted on Susan Shillito28/01/2026Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Had a lovely afternoon at NFCC on Saturday celebrating my mum's 80th birthday. Staff were really helpful and lovely, nothing was too much trouble and happy for us to do our own catering. Everyone had a lovely time. Thank you 😊Posted on BIA BOD 13th25/01/2026Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We hired the facilities at New Farnley Cricket Club for my mum’s wake, and it couldn’t have been a more fitting place. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, creating a warm atmosphere in every sense — helped along by a roaring log burner that made the space feel cosy and comforting. The food was great, and it was a lovely, relaxed setting to share memories and catch up with friends and family. It was especially meaningful for me, as it brought back fond memories of my mum calling in here for a drink after a long walk. Thank you to everyone at the club for helping make a difficult day feel that little bit easier and more special.Posted on Katie Hunt15/01/2026Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We used New Farnley Cricket Club for my mother’s celebration of life, and it was a perfect choice. The room was lovely and welcoming, and the staff couldn’t do enough for us. they were kind, attentive, and supportive throughout the day. The log burner made the room beautifully warm and comforting on a winter’s day, which meant a lot to us. Thank you to everyone at NFCC for helping us create such a special and meaningful gathering.Posted on Natalie A18/10/2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. A big thank you to Michael for the excellent buffet food. There was alot left unfortunately but Michael very kindly provided takeaway cartons, which were a brilliant idea. At least people could take some food home with them. Keeley and all her bar staff made us feel very welcome. They worked very hard and went above and beyond. I would definitely recommend this venue.
