Double Delight As New Farnley Dominate Bentley Blast Sunday

New Farnley enjoyed a perfect afternoon in the BPCL Bentley Blast T20 competition on Sunday, recording two emphatic victories over Morley and Carlton to maintain their excellent form.

The day began with an eight-wicket victory over Morley after a disciplined bowling performance restricted the visitors to 116-7 from their 20 overs. Ryan McKendry starred with the ball, claiming an excellent 3-12, while Fletcher Coutts (2-19), Taylor Robinson (1-19) and Reuben Majithia (1-26) all played their part in keeping the scoring under control. Ben White provided Morley’s main resistance with 71, but regular wickets ensured New Farnley always remained in command.

In reply, Steven Bullen gave the innings an explosive start with 28 from just 17 deliveries before Aidan Langley and McKendry calmly guided New Farnley home. Langley finished unbeaten on 48, while McKendry added an unbeaten 33 as the home side reached 118-2 with more than four overs to spare. Langley was deservedly named Player of the Match after another composed and influential innings.

If the opening win was impressive, the second match of the day against Carlton was simply outstanding. Asked to bat first, New Farnley piled up a formidable 225-7 from their 20 overs thanks to a superb display of clean hitting. Bullen led the charge with a magnificent unbeaten 88 from just 54 balls, including 9 fours and 3 sixes. His opening partner Coutts hit a blistering 66 from only 31 deliveries, striking 4 fours and 6 sixes, while McKendry chipped in with an entertaining 43 and Ed Brown added a rapid 21.

Carlton’s reply never gathered any momentum as New Farnley’s bowlers produced another ruthless display. Robinson was outstanding, taking 4-18, while Gurman Randhawa claimed 3-16 and Abhay Negi picked up an early wicket to leave Carlton reeling. Coutts and Brown also chipped in with a wicket apiece as Carlton were dismissed for just 82 in 13.4 overs, handing New Farnley a remarkable 143-run victory. Steven Bullen’s match-winning innings earned him the Player of the Match award.

Two comprehensive victories, outstanding individual performances and a relentless team effort made it a hugely successful day for New Farnley in the Bentley Blast. With contributions throughout the squad with both bat and ball, confidence continues to build as the competition enters Finals Day at Ossett on Sunday 19th July 2026 with Bradford & Bingley, Jer Lane and Townville making up the quartet along with ourselves.
