End of Season Renovations at Lawns Lane

End-of-season renovations are now underway at Lawns Lane, carried out by Ian Bullock using SISIS Machinery.

The work includes:

  • Fraze mowing – a turf renovation technique that shaves off the top layer of turf, removing thatch, organic matter, weed grasses, and surface unevenness. This helps create a smoother and healthier playing surface.

  • Scarifying – a vital maintenance process where rotating blades or tines cut into the turf, removing layers of thatch and moss that can otherwise suffocate grass roots.

  • Top dressing – applied to encourage strong new grass growth and further improve the quality of the playing surface.

These essential renovations will ensure the pitch remains in top condition and ready for the challenges of the next season.
