Maxwell Swallow Stars As New Farnley Cruise To Victory

A sensational spell from Maxwell Swallow was the standout performance as New Farnley Under 15’s secured a convincing 10-wicket victory over Cleckheaton Under 15’s. Swallow ripped through the middle and lower order to finish with remarkable figures of 5 wickets for just 1 run from 4 overs, including 3 maidens, helping dismiss Cleckheaton for 76 in just 15 overs.

After Cleckheaton elected to bat, New Farnley’s bowlers quickly took control. Muhammad Rizwan struck twice at the top of the order before Swallow produced a devastating spell that turned the game decisively in Farnley’s favour. Batsmen simply had no answer as he removed five players, including a brilliant catch by Lily Lonsdale leaving Cleckheaton reeling. His outstanding economy rate of just 0.25 runs per over underlined a dominant display with the ball.

Supported by Jack Little and Kian Bentley, who both chipped in with wickets, New Farnley never allowed Cleckheaton to build any momentum. The hosts were eventually bowled out for 76, with Swallow’s spell proving the defining contribution of the innings.

In reply, New Farnley made light work of the target. Neel Sharma retired unbeaten on 31 after an aggressive knock featuring five fours and a six, while Rizwan (12*) anchored the chase. Lonsdale added an unbeaten 14 as New Farnley reached 77 without loss in just 12 overs to seal an emphatic win.

The evening belonged to Maxwell Swallow, however. His match-winning figures of 5-1 from four overs will live long in the memory and provided the platform for a comprehensive New Farnley victory.
